Trend: Chalkboard

Chalkboard is definitely the main trend of the coming season. It is clearly seen in the new collections of scrapbooking supplies and Pinterest boards. I picked out some interesting ideas for this overview.

I’m going to start with the news from the summer exhibition CHA Create-N-Connect 2013. Here are some of the new collections featuring chalkboard design:

But it is not necessary to wait till the new collections will ship to the stores. You can easily imitate chalkboard. All you need is some basic skills in Photoshop. The idea is as follows: Start with a chalkboard background and choose corresponding fonts. Check out these how-to’s:

Clearly, the chalkboard is popular not only in scrapbooking but also in home decor. Now you can see it not only in school classes. Here are some ideas for using chalkboard:

  • Board for notes or wall calendar
  • Drawing board for children
  • Signs for celebrations
  • Menus for restaurants
  • Serving trays
  • Reusable labels for jars, pots, boxes
  • Photo-booth accessories

You can make chalkboard on nearly every surface by using a special paint. There are chalkboard labels of different shapes. Some collections of scrapbooking supplies with chalkboard designs are already in stores. Below are the links to my favorite Simon Says Stamp.
