Tim’s 12 Tags of 2014 – December

And finally this is the 12th tag of 2014! I made all of the 12 tags through the year inspired by Tim Holtz.

I didn’t have a deer die cut. You can’t have all the die cuts in the world, right? So I drew it by hand and used my scissors to cut the shape out of a piece of textured cardstock.

I enjoyed playing with the background. My recipe is different from what Tim showed in his December tag. I put a thin layer of white acrylic paint first with long vertical strokes. When it dried, I rubbed my Salty Ocean distress ink pad directly on the tag, sprinkled some silver perfect pearls, and spritzed the tag with water. I allowed the ink to mix with pearl powder and dried the tag. I spritzed some more water over the dry tag to get the clear droplets effect. Adding some gray stamped snowflakes made the background look very icy.

I hope that Tim’s 12 Tags of… will continue in 2015.

  1. I really like your reindeer (better than any I’ve seen). The sparkly bits are nice too and your bow is perfect. This is a really sweet tag.
