Art-Layout “Spring in My Soul”

Spring is arriving. I was inspired by the pastel colors: yellow and teal. It is like seeing the sun in the clear sky. My layout is mostly artsy. I used a lot of watercolors to create the soft look. And one great stamp set helped me to fill the page with beautiful flowers.

The size of this layout is A4 and it is pre-scored down the middle so that it could be a part of an art-journal. I prefer experimenting with unattached pages. I can bind them together, say, at the end of the year.

However, I started with a white watercolor paper. Then I added the flowers using just the contour parts from the Painted Flowers stamp set by Altenew. I stamped them with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white powder. This acted as a resist when I started adding watercolors freehand. For the focal point, I decided to use the same flowers stamps instead of a photo. I colored this image in grey tones. Finally, I added my sentiment with a black marker. Oh, and lastly, a few splatters added to the natural look of this spring art-layout.

I’ve got the idea and inspiration when I saw the mood board from March Challenge at Scrap Around the World.
